In-house Legal Counsel

Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:

- **Legal Advisory**:

- Provide accurate, timely legal advice to various departments within the company on a wide range of legal issues, including but not limited to commercial, corporate, regulatory, and labor laws.
- Interpret complex legal regulations and translate them into actionable guidance for business stakeholders.
- Advise on and manage legal risks associated with the company’s activities and provide guidance to mitigate such risks.
- **Legal Drafting and Documentation**:

- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure the company's interests are protected.
- Ensure legal documents are clear, enforceable, and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records for all legal transactions and contracts.
- **Compliance Management**:

- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including corporate, employment, and data protection laws.
- Develop, implement, and monitor legal compliance programs and policies to prevent legal risks.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits to assess compliance adherence across various business functions.
- **Dispute Resolution and Litigation Support**:

- Manage and coordinate responses to legal disputes, including pre-litigation negotiations and, where necessary, collaborate with external counsel in litigation or arbitration proceedings.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, if required, and handle settlement discussions to resolve disputes effectively and efficiently.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**:

- Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., finance, HR, operations, and sales) to understand and support their business needs from a legal perspective.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal teams regarding all legal matters and provide ongoing training to teams on legal and regulatory developments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external legal counsel when specialized advice or support is required.

Skills and Qualifications:

- **Educational and Experience Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B. or equivalent); Master’s degree in Law (LL.M) is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar in-house or corporate legal role, preferably in [industry sector].
- Admission to the Indian Bar Association (or other relevant licensing body).
- **Technical Skills**:

- Proficient knowledge of corporate and commercial law, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Expertise in legal drafting with an eye for detail and precision in wording to ensure clarity and enforceability.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex legal issues and offer practical solutions.
- **Soft Skills**:

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to convey complex legal concepts clearly and concisely to non-legal audiences.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to work collaboratively and manage stakeholder expectations.
- High ethical standards and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- **Other Requirements**:

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with digital legal management tools or software is an advantage.

Working Conditions:

- This is a full-time role based in Gurgaon Location
- Occasional travel may be required for legal proceedings, contract negotiations, or regulatory meetings.
