We are currently seeking a skilled Accounting Assistant with at least 4 years of experience working with Odoo ERP to join our finance team.
**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **General Accounting Support**:
- Assist with general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and monthly/year-end closings.
- Reconcile accounts payable/receivable and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Monitor cash flow and ensure timely payments of invoices.
- **Odoo ERP Management**:
- Manage accounting functions within Odoo, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
- Perform data entry, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in Odoo’s modules.
- Generate and analyze financial reports using Odoo (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow reports).
- Troubleshoot issues in the Odoo system and collaborate with IT to resolve discrepancies.
- **Tax and Compliance Support**:
- Assist with VAT/GST reporting and tax filings as required by jurisdiction.
- Ensure adherence to local and international accounting standards.
- **Vendor and Customer Management**:
- Process vendor invoices and payments within Odoo, ensuring all transactions are documented accurately.
- Assist with customer invoicing, receipts, and account reconciliations.
- **Process Improvement & Reporting**:
- Provide feedback on process improvements to increase efficiency in the accounting department.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure Odoo's modules are fully utilized for accurate financial reporting.
- **Other Duties**:
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as required by the accounting manager or senior accountant.
- Maintain filing systems for financial documents, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- **Experience**:
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in accounting, with at least 2 years of experience using Odoo ERP for accounting functions.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
- **Skills and Competencies**:
- Proficiency in Odoo ERP, particularly in accounting and finance modules (AP, AR, invoicing, financial reports).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and other accounting software.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
**Preferred Skills**:
- Experience with Odoo customization and module configuration.
- Familiarity with other accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, etc.) is a plus.
- Knowledge of tax laws and regulations in [jurisdiction].
