**Job Title**: Commis 1 Baker

**Reports to**: Head Baker / Pastry Chef**Job Summary**:
The Commis 1 Baker is responsible for assisting in the preparation and production of a wide range of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies. This role involves following recipes, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the bakery team to ensure efficient and high-quality production. The Commis 1 Baker will learn and develop baking skills under the guidance of more experienced bakers.

**Key Responsibilities**:1. Baking & Production**:

- Assist in preparing and baking a variety of bakery products, including bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies.
- Follow recipes and instructions from the Head Baker or Pastry Chef to ensure consistency and quality.
- Measure and mix ingredients, operate baking equipment, and monitor baking times to produce high-quality baked goods.

**2. Mise en Place**:

- Prepare and organize ingredients and supplies for daily baking operations.
- Ensure all ingredients are properly measured, mixed, and ready for use according to the day's production schedule.
- Maintain a well-organized and clean workstation to facilitate efficient production.

**3. Quality Control**:

- Inspect finished products for quality, including texture, flavor, and appearance.
- Follow standard recipes and procedures to ensure consistency in all baked goods.
- Make adjustments as needed to improve product quality based on feedback from senior staff.

**4. Hygiene & Safety**:

- Adhere to strict hygiene and safety standards in the preparation, handling, and storage of food items.
- Clean and sanitize work surfaces, equipment, and utensils regularly to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment.
- Follow health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.

**5. Equipment Maintenance**:

- Operate and maintain bakery equipment, such as mixers, ovens, and proofers, according to manufacturer instructions.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Head Baker or maintenance team.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained properly to ensure safe and efficient operation.

**6. Inventory Management**:

- Assist in managing bakery inventory, including tracking ingredient levels and reporting shortages to senior staff.
- Help with the receiving and storage of bakery supplies and ingredients, ensuring proper rotation and storage practices.

**7. Team Support**:

- Support the bakery team in achieving daily production goals and meeting customer demands.
- Assist in training and mentoring new or junior bakery staff as needed.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent; formal culinary training is a plus.
- **Experience**:

- 1-2 years of experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen, or relevant culinary experience.
- Basic understanding of baking techniques and processes.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Familiarity with bakery equipment and tools.
- **Attention to Detail**: High standards for product quality, presentation, and consistency.
- **Time Management**: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
