PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To support the procurement of selected sub-categories to ensure that the current and future needs of the businesses are met at the lowest cost. It includes supporting the Procurement Manager in developing, communicating, and obtaining support for creative, rigorous, and successful strategies for direct and Indirect procurement that exploit McCormick’s geographic leverage effectively and appropriately.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Minimize total cost of purchases through use of professional procurement methods and best practice to identify major opportunities for cost reduction and service enhancements to the business. Report on defined savings projects, forecasts and results through the company agreed tool.
Support the Proc. Manager to select and develop best in class suppliers to meet business needs identified through cross functional teams within the business including selection and development of best-in-class suppliers to meet business needs identified through cross functional teams within the business.
Assist cross-functional teams/project leader to meet price and timing targets for the development of new products.
Communicate vendor management program to suppliers to ensure they understand and meet cost, quality and service level targets.
Maintain purchasing systems and produce reports to ensure accurate management information is available to make business related decisions.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate or equivalent with minimum 2 years of expereince FMCG/Food industry as a buyer.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power point
Business Savvy with strong analytical skills.
Strong business partnering and interpersonal skills
Organized, flexible and easily adaptable to changing environment
Ability to work well in high pressure situations in order to meet deadlines
Ability to multi-task and manage numerous simultaneous priorities
High energy, high ownership, dedication and commitment to driving results
Strong written and oral communication skills
