**Where you fit in**
With coordinated action from industry and Indian government, the potential scale of cleaner energy use in India can further be enhanced, in transition to a carbon neutral economy. Early demand case is expected to come in from existing geographies with high concentration of Industrial, mining activities, which would enable sector decoupling with multiple sectors usage, economies of scale and shared infrastructure with reduced costs. These geographies are identified as Hubs. India potentially has multiple hubs across all regions.
In this role, you will report to and work closely with Business Opportunity Manager - Low Carbon Hub as well as the Sr Commercial Lead. For individual smaller projects / deals, he / she may operate as the BOM) / Deal Lead or work with the relevant business stakeholder.
**What’s the role**
As Commercial Advisor for Low Carbon Hub, you will play a pivotal role in building, anchoring, and managing the various commercial constructs with multiple partners/consortiums, for multiple decarbonization pathways with scale up, across a 10-15 years’ time horizon/roadmap in identified Hub Locations. Moreover, you will need to perform multiple roles, including deal support, new business development, integrator of various businesses and functions (local and global, internal, and external), to make the Low carbon Hub a reality.
Within the larger scope of a Low Carbon Hub, you are expected to:
- Lead or support a set of 1-2 BD opportunities/projects/workstreams, with headline varying from USD 10 Mn to USD 25 Mn.
- Manage efforts of members from different business & functional teams contributing to the projects / workstreams that the incumbent is managing.
- Play an integrator role along with BOM in building synergies amongst all the key identified pathways that are in play within the Low Carbon Hub.
- Accelerate the key projects / portfolios via diligent program and project management
- Provide strong strategy development and implementation frameworks to propel success of various projects / initiatives
- Be flexible to perform multiple roles in multiple projects / initiatives simultaneously BOM, deal support, program manager, strategy advisor, work stream lead and a lot more, as a fast paced business environment demands
- Ensure HSSE focus and achieving Goal Zero performance in all activities with Shell participation. Ensure full compliance to SGBP in all activities under purview
- Head project / program management:
- Support or lead multiple parallel projects / programs, interfacing with DRBs, senior stakeholders and working teams
- Ensure effective project management of initiatives across the board and ensure requisite focus on actions / timelines is maintained
- Work closely with Business Opportunity Manager or senior stakeholders in commercial projects to develop the overall approach / strategy
- Be involved in preparing the business case and strategic review papers for senior audiences at RDS level
- Provide support to BOM in various ongoing projects, such as deal support, NBD activities, strategy paper development
- Provide support for input and preparedness of CCH India to relevant India Forums - internal (e.g. JV and Board engagements) and external (e.g. key government and industry bodies, speaker sessions etc.) in championing the concept of Low Carbon Hub.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement (Internal and External):
- Build good network with internal stakeholders - External Relations (ER), Government Relations (GR), and the businesses/functions, and ensure alignment with them on key Hub topics
- Manage select set of external stakeholders, either directly, or by support to BOM or CR-India, in the engagements - Government, regulators, industry bodies, policy framework, influencers and NGOs
- Build close working level partnership with key stakeholder in business lines (retail, lubes, IG, T&S) and business support teams (SBO, HR, Finance, legal etc.) to ensure strong integration with Low Carbon Hub Team.
- Manage efforts of members from different business & functional teams contributing to the projects / workstreams that the incumbent is managing. Estimated that incumbent will need to be coordinating efforts of 15-20 team members / consultants at any given point of time
**What we need from you**
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant work experience with exposure in 2 or more businesses, preferably retail, biofuels, or new energies
- Management degree, or courses related to engineering/ finance / management in college
