**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Title**: UNIX Systems Administrator II

**Location**: India

**ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues related to Unix and Linux operating systems in a timely manner.
- Conduct basic investigation and follow standards to resolve or escalate.
- Monitor systems to optimize performance and uptime to assist with meeting service levels.
- Ability to prioritize, manage and perform under pressure to meet SLA’s.
- Ability to work with vendor support to resolve critical issues in a timely manner.
- Work within the relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Perform extensive troubleshooting and problem solving, independently as well as with the help of other support resources with least impact to business performance.
- Be available for providing after-hours/weekend/holiday production support when called upon. May provide on-call support when required.
- Required to learn and use good time management skills to complete assigned tasks. Work with senior team members and vendors to ensure stakeholders are informed and provided timely updates and resolutions.
- Assist with compliance of systems through existing standards and procedures. Identify gaps in compliance and remediate in a timely manner.
- Present the ability to work on multiple priorities. Seek guidance where applicable to help prioritize multiple priorities. Ability to take and follow direction.
- A positive attitude, good teamwork, professionalism & interpersonal skills, proactively seeking solutions, taking initiative where necessary.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with business associates

**SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS**
- AIX, Unix and Linux server.
- Ksh, Csh or Bsh shell scripting.
- Devops
- Troubleshooting skills and understanding system logging and error reporting
- Device management and administration
- Ability to identify the root cause of issues and resolve them.
- Knowledge of VMWare ESXi.
- Knowledge of Red Hat Satellite server and Ansible.
- Possess knowledge of Systems Administration in AIX VIO/AIX NIM or VMWare.
- Should have experience in High Availability Cluster Multiprocessing (HACMP) clusters.
- Responsible for monitoring of AIX/UNIX, and Linux servers continuously and resolving the system related issues.
- Responsible for creating file systems, disk partitioning and issue resolution.
- Responsible for configuring & trouble shooting NFS, NIS, LDAP, and DNS services.
- Knowledge of Source Control Management tools like Gitlab or GitHub.
- Knowledge of CI/DC tools like Jenkins and Gitlab.
- Responsible for communicating with vendors on any sort of unresolved issues such as hardware failures, related to newly released updates.
- Experience with AIX 7.1 and RHEL 6.10 or later, performance monitoring and tuning tools, installation options, problem determination and recovery, and AIX security.
- Experience writing and debugging shell scripts in a standard UNIX shell.
- Responsible for analyzing and diagnosing system failures recover and restore operating systems and file systems.
- Perform performance tuning and management ensure continuous system availability.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science/Diploma or equivalent Technical certifications
