**Process Overview**

**Job Description**

The Solutions Oversight & Data Analytics Team (SO&DA) is responsible for providing quantitative modeling, oversight, and infrastructure to the Chief Investment Office. The Chief Investment Office provides overall advice and guidance to all of the wealth management units at Bank of America including Merrill Lynch and the Private Bank. The individual will work with a team of Data Scientists/Engineers and Investment Analysts that use predominantly quantitative resources to identify investment opportunities and outliers. The SO&DA team also provides much of the quantitative infrastructure that is used to support processes across the CIO and beyond.

**Responsibilities**
- Extensive experience in SQL is an absolute must. Extensive database knowledge with the ability to identify inefficiencies and modify processes to reflect best practices.
- Understanding of R/R Studio and develop new code, manipulate and optimize existing code for CIO SO&DA process.
- Analyze and organize raw data from different sources (Vendors, data delivery methods, etc.)
- Build data systems and pipelines.
- Automate reports and processes to run with varying frequencies.
- Monitor and debug processes and report the problem to the corresponding responsible parties.
- Explore ways to enhance data quality, reliability, and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for data acquisition.
- Develop analytical tools and programs.
- Collaborate with data scientists and architects on several projects.
- Perform unit tests and conduct reviews with other team members to make sure your code is rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for performance.

**Requirements**
- ** Education**
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in either, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent background from a top-tier institution
- ** Certifications If Any**
- Data engineering certification (e.g IBM Certified Data Engineer) is a plus
- ** Experience Range**
- 4-6 year of relevant experience in software engineering, data engineering, data visualization

**Foundational skills**
- Proficient in data engineering practices and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns.
- Experience working with database management languages (SQL, NoSQL).
- Extensive experience with object oriented programing (OOP)/Scripting languages such as R, Python, Bash, and/or Matlab.
- Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
- Experience working in multiple technology deployment lanes (development through production) is required.
- Experience working with Git/Bit Bucket and familiarity with overall code version control.
- Basic knowledge of financial markets, economic movements and trends, portfolio management concepts, market risk management
- Ability to work both independently and in teams on projects executing on-time and with precision.
- Friendly, courteous, humble mindset, and willingness to work in a flat team organization.

**Desired skills**
- Experience with ETL type software (Alteryx, Informatica) is a plus.
- Familiarity with internal or vendor data (FactSet, Morningstar, Bloomberg) is a plus but not required.
- Expertise in running and developing in Tableau is a plu
