Job Title: Production Supervisor - Steel CastingLocation: Tiruchirappalli Experience Required: 1 to 3 Years Salary: Depends upon ExperienceJob Summary:We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Supervisor – Steel Casting to oversee day-to-day foundry operations, ensuring optimal production output, quality standards, and safety compliance. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of steel casting processes, moulding, melting, and fettling operations, along with leadership capabilities to manage production teams effectively.Key Responsibilities:Supervise and coordinate all activities related to the steel casting production process, including moulding, melting, pouring, knockout, and finishing.Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality standards and minimising downtime.Monitor workflow, manpower allocation, machine utilization, and materials to achieve daily and monthly targets.Implement and maintain safety protocols, housekeeping, and 5S principles on the shop floor.Inspect and ensure the dimensional and metallurgical quality of castings is as per specifications.Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to minimize equipment downtime.Maintain detailed production reports including shift performance, material consumption, and manpower usage.Identify process bottlenecks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for productivity and quality.Train, mentor, and motivate production staff to enhance skill development and team efficiency.Collaborate with the quality, planning, and logistics departments to ensure seamless operations.Essential Qualifications:Diploma / / in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or Production Engineering.5–7 years of experience in steel casting / foundry production operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.Skills & Competencies:Strong knowledge of casting processes such as sand casting, shell moulding, core making, melting, and heat treatment.Familiarity with ferrous metallurgy, alloy compositions, and defect analysis.Good understanding of manufacturing safety standards and quality assurance systems (ISO, TS, etc.).Proficiency in using ERP systems and MS Office for production planning and reporting.Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to handle manpower and work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
