Position Title: Product Manager - Mutual Funds

Location: Varanasi (U.P.)

Job Summary:

The Product Manager for Mutual Funds will be responsible for overseeing and managing the compliance aspects of the bank's mutual fund products and services. This role requires ensuring that all mutual fund offerings comply with regulatory standards, internal policies, and industry best practices. The Product Manager will work closely with various departments, including legal, risk, operations, and sales, to implement and monitor compliance strategies, manage risks, and support product development initiatives. The Product Manager is expected to stay informed on market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive positioning to drive product innovation and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Compliance Management:
  • Ensure that all mutual fund products and related services comply with relevant regulations (e.g., SEBI, AMFI).
  • Monitor and interpret changes in regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the bank's mutual fund products.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to develop, update, and enforce policies and procedures for mutual fund products.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  1. Product Strategy & Development:
  • Develop and execute the mutual fund product strategy in alignment with the bank's objectives.
  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive products to drive innovation and differentiation in the mutual fund offerings.
  • Collaborate with fund houses to select and launch new funds, ensuring they meet customer needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the product lifecycle from inception to discontinuation, ensuring a balanced product portfolio.
  1. Risk Management:
  • Identify and assess compliance risks associated with mutual fund products and work with relevant teams to mitigate these risks.
  • Develop and maintain a risk management framework specific to mutual fund products, including regular risk assessments and reporting.

  1. Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management, highlighting key compliance risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all required regulatory reports.
  1. Sales & Distribution:
  • Work closely with the sales team to develop and implement sales strategies for mutual funds.
  • Provide training and support to sales teams on product features, benefits, and market positioning.
  • Develop marketing and promotional campaigns to drive product sales and customer engagement.
  • Monitor sales performance and take corrective actions to achieve sales targets.
  1. Customer Experience:
  • Enhance the customer experience by ensuring easy access to mutual fund products through digital and traditional channels.
  • Gather and analyse customer feedback to continuously improve the product offerings.
  • Develop and manage loyalty programs or incentives to increase customer retention and cross-sell opportunities.
  1. Stakeholder Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with fund houses, distribution partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal teams such as marketing, legal, operations, and IT to ensure seamless product delivery and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience:
  • 5-8 years of experience in product management, compliance, or risk management within the financial services industry, with a focus on mutual funds.
  • In-depth knowledge of mutual fund regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., SEBI regulations, SEC rules).
  • Experience in managing product compliance within a banking or financial services environment.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of mutual funds, investment products, and financial markets.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret market trends and customer needs.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders.
  • Proficient in using financial analysis tools and CRM software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
