Job Title: Senior Manager - Cybersecurity Engineering

Location: Hyderabad (Work from Office)

Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager to lead our Cyber Defence Centre (CDC) Engineering team in Hyderabad. This role involves driving the engineering efforts to enhance, develop, and maintain cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies and tools, ensuring robust detection, analysis, and mitigation of cyber threats. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, proven leadership skills, and a collaborative approach to strengthening the organization’s cybersecurity defences.

Key Responsibilities

Cyber Defence Engineering Leadership:

Lead the CDC Engineering team in designing and maintaining security solutions supporting the Cyber Defence Centre's detection and response capabilities.

Develop and execute a strategic roadmap aligning with cybersecurity and business objectives.

Oversee the lifecycle of security technologies, including SIEM, EDR, network security tools, and automation platforms.

Security Architecture and Development:

Architect and integrate advanced cybersecurity tools to detect, investigate, and mitigate threats.

Collaborate with SOC teams to enhance threat detection capabilities and create new use cases.

Develop automation workflows and custom scripts to streamline security operations.

Incident Response and Threat Detection Support:

Partner with incident response teams to ensure engineering efforts support rapid containment and remediation.

Optimize detection rules to improve accuracy and minimize false positives.

Support advanced threat-hunting activities by integrating threat intelligence.

Team Management and Development:

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of security engineers.

Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Set and monitor performance goals through KPIs and regular reviews.

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Partnerships:

Work with IT, DevOps, and application teams to integrate security into SDLC and cloud environments.

Collaborate with compliance teams to meet regulatory and organizational security standards.

Align objectives across CDC Engineering and other cybersecurity functions.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

Stay updated on emerging technologies, threats, and trends.

Drive automation and process improvements in threat detection and response.

Regularly review engineering processes for enhanced efficiency and resilience.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

10+ years in cybersecurity with a focus on security engineering, threat detection, and incident response.

5+ years managing security engineering teams in a Cyber Defence Centre or SOC environment.

Technical Skills:

Expertise in tools such as SIEM, EDR, SOAR, IDS/IPS, and cloud security platforms.

Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, PowerShell, or Bash).

Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and microservices architecture.

Knowledge Areas:

Cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, CIS Controls).

Network and endpoint security, log management, and threat intelligence.

Soft Skills:

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

Problem-solving mindset with a focus on innovation.

Proven project management skills for handling multiple initiatives.

Certifications (Preferred)

CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, OSCP, CEH, or equivalent.
