Python Developer – Python + MongoDB

About the RoleWe are hiring a Core Python Developer with strong experience in MongoDB to work on backend services that power the HealthSigns platform, including our EMR, Smart Scan, Smart Labs, transcription pipelines, and AI-driven clinical workflows.This role is central to building our Intelligence Kernel, which integrates AI reasoning, automation, and healthcare-grade data processing.Key ResponsibilitiesBackend Development (Primary)- Develop backend services and REST APIs using Python.- Design MongoDB schemas, indexes, aggregation pipelines, and optimize query performance.- Implement background workers, task queues, and scalable data flows.- Integrate with AI/LLM outputs (transcription, Smart Scan, clinical reasoning).- Ensure system reliability, security, role-based access, and detailed audit logging.- Handle complex healthcare workflows involving EMR, orders, labs, and billing modules.Data & Platform Integration- Convert unstructured model output into validated, structured clinical data.- Build interfaces between backend, AI engines, and external systems (HIS/LIS/EMR).- Implement fallbacks, confidence scoring, and error-handling mechanisms.- Work closely with DevOps, QA, and frontend teams to deliver production-ready modules.Required Skills- Python (4–6 years) , FastAPI/Flask, microservices, REST API development- MongoDB (strong hands-on expertise)- Schema design- Aggregation pipelines- Performance optimization- Indexing strategy- Experience building scalable backend systems- Strong understanding of authentication, RBAC, logging, and integrations- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD- Strong debugging and problem-solving skillsBonus Skills- Healthcare domain experience (EMR, LIS, HIS)- Familiarity with OCR/LLM/NLP pipelines- Cloud exposure (Azure/AWS)Soft Skills- High ownership attitude- Ability to work independently and collaboratively- Strong communication and documentation habits- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, product-driven environmentWhy Join HealthSigns?- Work on mission-critical healthcare systems used in India, US, UAE, and LATAM- Build backend services that directly integrate with AI engines- High-growth, high-learning engineering environment- Flexible Remote/Hybrid Kochi working model
