Python Developer – Python + MongoDB

About the RoleWe are hiring a Core Python Developer with strong experience in MongoDB to work on backend services that power the HealthSigns platform, including our EMR, Smart Scan, Smart Labs, transcription pipelines, and AI-driven clinical workflows.This role is central to building our Intelligence Kernel, which integrates AI reasoning, automation, and healthcare-grade data processing.Key ResponsibilitiesBackend Development (Primary)Develop backend services and REST APIs using Python.Design MongoDB schemas, indexes, aggregation pipelines, and optimize query performance.Implement background workers, task queues, and scalable data flows.Integrate with AI/LLM outputs (transcription, Smart Scan, clinical reasoning).Ensure system reliability, security, role-based access, and detailed audit logging.Handle complex healthcare workflows involving EMR, orders, labs, and billing modules.Data & Platform IntegrationConvert unstructured model output into validated, structured clinical data.Build interfaces between backend, AI engines, and external systems (HIS/LIS/EMR).Implement fallbacks, confidence scoring, and error-handling mechanisms.Work closely with DevOps, QA, and frontend teams to deliver production-ready modules.Required SkillsPython (4–6 years) , FastAPI/Flask, microservices, REST API developmentMongoDB (strong hands-on expertise)Schema designAggregation pipelinesPerformance optimizationIndexing strategyExperience building scalable backend systemsStrong understanding of authentication, RBAC, logging, and integrationsFamiliarity with Git and CI/CDStrong debugging and problem-solving skillsBonus SkillsHealthcare domain experience (EMR, LIS, HIS)Familiarity with OCR/LLM/NLP pipelinesCloud exposure (Azure/AWS)Soft SkillsHigh ownership attitudeAbility to work independently and collaborativelyStrong communication and documentation habitsComfortable working in a fast-paced, product-driven environmentWhy Join HealthSigns?Work on mission-critical healthcare systems used in India, US, UAE, and LATAMBuild backend services that directly integrate with AI enginesHigh-growth, high-learning engineering environmentFlexible Remote/Hybrid Kochi working model
