Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Tableau Developer with a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Tableau dashboards and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data visualization, business intelligence, and data analysis, and will be able to translate business requirements into intuitive and actionable Tableau reports. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, understanding complex data, and providing insights to drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tableau Dashboard Development : Design and develop interactive, user-friendly, and visually compelling Tableau dashboards, reports, and visualizations based on business needs.
  • Data Integration : Work with large datasets, and perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Data Modeling : Create and optimize data models, data sources, and calculations to ensure the performance and scalability of Tableau reports.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with business users, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze reporting requirements, and translate them into Tableau solutions.
  • Performance Tuning : Optimize Tableau dashboards and reports for better performance, focusing on data extraction, visualization performance, and load times.
  • Report Automation : Implement automated report generation, data refresh scheduling, and delivery using Tableau Server or Tableau Online.
  • Troubleshooting & Support : Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for Tableau-related issues, working on enhancements or bug fixes as necessary.
  • Documentation : Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of Tableau solutions, including data sources, calculations, and report specifications.
  • Training & Knowledge Sharing : Mentor junior developers and business users on best practices in Tableau development, data visualization principles, and self-service reporting.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience : Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in Tableau development, including Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Prep.
  • Technical Skills :
  • Strong proficiency in Tableau and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and deploying dashboards and reports using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
  • Expertise in data blending, complex calculations, filters, parameters, and dashboard actions in Tableau.
  • Familiarity with Tableau’s performance optimization techniques, data source optimization, and the Tableau Performance Recorder.
  • Experience with Tableau Prep or other ETL tools for data preparation.
  • Data Skills :
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts.
  • Ability to perform data analysis and statistical modeling.
  • Experience with SQL and writing complex queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
  • Business Intelligence Knowledge : Deep understanding of BI best practices, data visualization principles, and how to apply them in the Tableau ecosystem.
  • Problem Solving & Analytical Skills : Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills with a focus on delivering actionable insights.
  • Soft Skills :
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with additional BI tools like Power BI, Qlik, or similar is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data storage solutions like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Tableau certification (Desktop Qualified Associate, Server, or Specialist) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Python, R, or other programming languages for advanced analytics is an advantage.
