The Role of Senior Editor is available in a leading producer and provider of video solutions, serving over 1,000 universities, colleges, and biopharma companies worldwide.

We seek a results-driven individual to oversee the publication process and manage cross-functional teams for peer review, content writing, and video production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage teams to ensure efficient publishing operations, including Peer Review Editors, Content Writers, and Video Production staff.
  • Oversee manuscript workflow from peer review to publication, ensuring timeliness, quality, and adherence to standards.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput and reduce publication timelines.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies such as AI to optimize workflows and improve author experience.
  • Define team KPIs and departmental goals; monitor performance and ensure accountability.
  • Ensure scientific rigor and editorial excellence across all published content, aligning with high-quality standards.
  • Identify new journal sections or special issues in response to emerging research trends.

Requirements:

  • A Master's or Ph.D. in life sciences.
  • 10+ years of experience in academic, scientific publishing or edtech content production, specializing in managing publication workflows.
  • 7+ years of proven management experience.
  • Strong understanding of peer review, open access trends, and evolving scientific publishing models.
  • Experience with digital publishing technologies, Content Management System (CMS), and workflow automation tools.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating technology and digital tools to improve publishing workflows, quality, and efficiency.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with strong communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a results-driven mindset; thrives in a fast-paced environment.
