This role encompasses responsibility for providing expert input on dam safety matters, overseeing rehabilitation works design review processes, and offering technical guidance on various aspects of dam operations.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the assessment and finalization of preliminary designs for rehabilitation works, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Review submitted proposals, focusing on design aspects and basic layout plans, to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Provide technical input on physical modeling of significant structural interventions, facilitating informed decision-making on dam safety enhancements.
  • Estimate costs based on item rate analysis or scheduled rates to optimize resource allocation and minimize financial risks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop in-house expertise and conduct capacity-building programs for DAM IAs, enhancing their knowledge and skills in dam safety management.
  • Assist in revising existing guidelines and formulating new ones, contributing to the evolution of best practices in dam safety and rehabilitation works.
  • Offer insights for the National Website on dam safety information and MIS system development, fostering transparency and improving data-driven decision-making.
  • Support the development of in-house expertise at select academic institutions, promoting knowledge sharing and capacity building across the industry.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on rehabilitation activities, capturing key findings and recommendations for future improvements.
  • Contribute to the finalization of the CS&QA Manual and Plan, ensuring a robust framework for quality assurance and control in dam safety and rehabilitation works.
