Senior Commercial Real Estate Financial Manager

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Property Accountant to join our team. This role involves managing a portfolio of commercial properties, owned by various Funds and Joint Ventures, ensuring compliance with lender, tax, and investor requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with 3rd party property teams who manage day-to-day accounting operations using an accounting platform.
A key aspect of the job is reviewing and overseeing 3rd party property accounting to ensure consistency, accuracy, and proper accounting.
Ongoing tasks include:
- Managing overall property level accounting, including cash management, financial reports, annual budgets, quarterly budget re-projections, tax basis amortization, and depreciation calculations.
- Providing support to 3rd party MRI users, reviewing and approving operating and tax escalations, annual estimates, quarterly and annual reconciliations, cost pools, expense caps, exclusions, gross ups, and base year calculations.
- Managing Loan Compliance, mortgage payments, lender reporting, loan and escrow draw, preparing unaudited financial reports, providing comprehensive audit support, and preparing audited financial statements with footnotes.
- 5-8 years of property accounting experience, with the majority in commercial real estate.
- Experience with Funds and/or Joint Ventures, fair value GAAP, tax accounting, TRS (Taxable REIT Subsidiaries), tenant recoveries (CAM), and waterfall calculations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows software programs and financial software systems applications, with MRI experience a plus.
An ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, be able to work independently and communicate effectively, and have experience in year-end audit, including preparation of financial statements and footnotes.
