Job Overview:

As a key member of the culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and cooking of food products for various outlets on board. This is an entry-level position that serves as a stepping stone to more senior roles in management.

Key responsibilities include supervising workstation activities, coordinating with the direct supervisor, and ensuring compliance with corporate recipe standards and onboard health and safety policies.

  • Main Galley including Butcher, Commissary, Pastry and Bakery
  • Windjammer Galley
  • Room service
  • Crew galley
  • Solarium

Radiance, Voyager and Freedom class ships have additional galleys such as Portofino, Chops Grille, Jade, Seaview, Johnny Rockets, Sorrentos, Café Promenade/Café Latte Tude.

Oasis class ships have additional venues like Giovanni's Table, 150 Central Park, Seafood Shack, Support galleys on Deck 7, Park Café, Wipeout Café, Café Mondo, Donut Shoppe, Chef's Table, Concierge dining, Vitality Cafe, Cup Cake Shoppe, Solarium Bistro, Doghouse, Rita's Cantina.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct oneself professionally and courteously at all times, adhering to Royal Caribbean International's Anchored in Excellence philosophy.
  2. Attend meetings, training activities, courses and other work-related activities as required.
  3. Demonstrate ability to take over other assigned stations as needed.
  4. Acquire knowledge in regards to AWP and vacuum infeed station.

Job Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years experience in upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention banqueting service.
  • Previous experience as Chef De Partie/Demi Chef De Partie advantageous.
  • Culinary school degree required.
  • Strong management skills in multicultural and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing personalized services.
  • Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills.
  • Intermediate computer software skills required.
  • Possess understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
