VMware Cloud Engineer - Day 2 Operations

We are seeking a highly skilled VMware Cloud Engineer to join our team. As a VMware Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for owning day-to-day operations and ensuring the steady-state reliability of our VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) stack.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with vSphere administration in production, including cluster design, HA/DRS, VM lifecycle, patching, and updates. You will also have practical experience with vSAN operations, including policy-based management, health, and performance troubleshooting.

Additionally, you should have working knowledge of NSXT for day-to-day operations, including overlay/segments, basic routing concepts, distributed firewall rule creation/validation, and NAT. Experience with vROps/VMware Aria Operations for monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and reporting is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, triage, and resolve incidents; drive problem management and root cause analysis.
  • Perform routine health checks and remediation across vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and vROps.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 4–7 years total experience in VMware virtualization & software-defined data center operations.
  • 2+ years hands-on with vSphere & vSAN; 1–2 years with NSXT day-to-day operations.
  • Prior experience operating vROps/Aria Operations in production.
  • Certifications (preferred): VCPDCV (required or in progress), VCPNV (plus), VCAP (plus).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent practical experience.
