Demand Planning Manager

This role coordinates the creation of Demand Plans for Integrated Business Planning within mid-size to large businesses and/or Lines of Business. It leads the development of rolling 36-month forecasts and supports 5-year demand forecasts for Strategic and Aggregate Planning.

This position liaises and consults with Sales, Marketing, Brand/Product Organizations, Finance, and Supply Chain to facilitate the Demand Planning Process. It works closely with the Demand Control Leader to understand near-term order trends and potential impacts on longer-term forecasts.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining the integrity of the Demand Plan and taking corrective actions promptly to ensure Demand Plan stability; escalating as appropriate.
  • Managing cross-functional and cross-BU interactions to ensure dependable and efficient demand management, including daily operations.
  • Working closely with GOEMs to manage and level-load demand to the plants.
  • Leading Integrated Business Planning (IBP) for Powergen India both internal and external (Short-term, Medium-term demand forecasting) and leading the Demand Review for India Powergen.
  • Participating in the global Demand Review and submitting forecasts for regional and global needs.
  • Conducting analytics of GOEM CRMs for engine inventory, primary shipments, order board, and secondary shipment trends.
  • Using knowledge of Business, Customers, Markets, and Products to efficiently challenge Demand Plan assumptions to improve forecast quality and robustness.
  • Driving assumption management in demand planning.
  • Leading continuous improvement projects aligned with Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence direction and leveraging common processes, tools, and information systems.
  • Supporting Corporate Demand Management initiatives and leading the global business unit demand planning process to ensure global alignment.
  • Managing consolidated sales projections for volumes and financial implications in both the monthly demand planning process and strategic planning processes.
  • Establishing collaborative business partner relationships to create common demand management processes and procedures.
  • Strategically and tactically addressing daily problem-solving and continuous improvement opportunities to achieve performance targets.
  • Developing, tracking, and improving key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Managing, coaching, and developing staff; working with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.
  • Serving as Chief of Staff and MSFE lead for Powergen India, providing additional leadership and strategic guidance.
