Design Engineer

Job Summary:

  • The Role:
  • Responsible for performing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis in PCBA and fabrication analysis in PCB.
  • Conduct thorough testability analysis and generate a Design for Testability (DFT) report.
  • Simulate mechanical assembly processes and create Design for Assembly (DFA) reports as per industry standards.
  • Create detailed DFx procedures and checklists, adhering to customer requirements and industry benchmarks.
  • Generate comprehensive DFx reports based on findings and observations, ensuring adherence to established standards.
  • Collaborate with internal manufacturing teams and customers to define DFx requirements and rules, ensuring seamless execution of projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of process metrics and ensure timely circulation of DFx reports to stakeholders.
  • Develop and mentor a team of professionals, providing guidance on relevant software and tools, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Identify and resolve service issues through root cause analysis, preparing KPI reports for regular operation reviews.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in PCBA processes, including stencil, solder paste printing, SMT, wave-soldering, assembly, and box build.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of IPC standards and PCB fabrication processes, encompassing PCB layers, design, and electronic component packages.
  • Develop expertise in defining DFx procedures and checklists, and possess hands-on experience with DFM module software, such as Vayopro, Valor NPI, and Solidworks.
  • Understand 3D product designs and simulation of product assembly processes, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and suitable metrics, driving business growth and improvement.
  • Possess direct experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) operations and manufacturing engineering, leveraging this expertise to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Apply Continuous Process Improvement principles, Kanban, and Lean manufacturing methodologies to optimize processes and improve outcomes.
  • Able to work flexibly in dynamic startup environments, adapting quickly to changing priorities and demands.
  • Collaborate with other engineering team members to improve existing designs or processes, driving innovation and excellence.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Electronics/Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 4-7 years' experience in DFx methodologies, PCBA DFM process, DFT, and DFA analysis.
