Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Support Specialist with expertise in providing end-to-end support for business-critical applications built on Progress OpenEdge. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves monitoring application performance, resolving issues, and ensuring system availability. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing root cause analysis, implementing long-term fixes, and collaborating with development teams for bug fixes, enhancements, and release deployments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide level 2 and level 3 support for applications developed using Progress OpenEdge.
  • Ensure high system availability and monitor application performance metrics.
  • Analyze and resolve incidents, service requests, and problem tickets within established service level agreements.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions to recurring issues.
  • Coordinate with development teams to implement bug fixes, enhancements, and releases.
  • Support application upgrades, patches, and migration activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong experience working with Progress OpenEdge (ABL/4GL) in a support capacity.
  • Good understanding of database concepts and performance troubleshooting.
  • Experience in incident management, problem management, and change management processes.
  • Familiarity with UNIX/Linux commands and scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of ticketing tools and platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of APIs and web services integration.
  • Experience working in a global support model.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
