Mendix Administrator Job Description

As a Mendix administrator, you play a vital role in managing the Mendix platform and its applications within an organization. This includes overseeing deployment of new applications, monitoring performance, and managing the application lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • User and Access Management
    • Invite new users, manage user roles and permissions, and set up App Access Groups for appropriate access to applications and data.
  • Application Deployment and Monitoring
    • Manage the deployment process, monitor application performance, and ensure smooth operation.
  • Platform Configuration and Maintenance
    • Configure settings within the Mendix platform, manage Marketplace content, and maintain system integrity.
  • Troubleshooting and Support
    • Address issues related to the platform and applications, collaborating with users and technical teams to resolve problems.
  • Security Management
    • Implement and maintain security measures to protect the platform and its data, including user authentication and authorization.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work with stakeholders like business analysts, developers, and end-users to understand requirements and support business needs.
  • Staying Updated
    • Maintain knowledge of the latest platform features, security updates, and best practices.
  • Specific Tasks
    • Manage Users and Groups: Adding, removing, and modifying user accounts and access rights.
    • Manage Apps: Deploying new applications, managing versions, and monitoring performance.
    • Manage Marketplace Content: Adding and configuring components from the Mendix Marketplace.
    • Monitor Platform Health: Tracking resource usage, performance metrics, and security logs.
    • Configure Platform Settings: Setting up company-specific configurations, such as security settings and branding.
    • Troubleshoot Issues: Investigating and resolving platform and application-related issues.
    • Document Processes: Creating and maintaining documentation for platform usage and administration.
