Product Innovation Manager

As a Product Development Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team in the steel industry. Your primary responsibility will be to effectively manage and implement key responsibilities that drive business growth.

Key responsibilities include:

• Safety First Methodology: Develop and maintain a safe work culture to achieve zero incidents.
• Customer Requirements: Implement customer-specific requirements across the plant for value-added products like Al-Si, HRPO, and Magnelis.
• Trial Material Planning: Plan trial material volumes for CRM#2 automotive complex.
• Scheduling and Monitoring: Schedule and monitor product trials at CGL#4/CGAL/PLTCM.
• Metallurgical Route Definition: Define metallurgical routes for Al-Si, HRPO, and Magnelis products from steel making to final goods.
• Product Trial Validation: Validate trial results starting from steel making to final goods process parameters and product properties.
• Approval Sample Planning: Plan approval samples, track internal sample preparation, and follow up with customers post dispatch.
• Homologation Process Validation: Validate homologation processes.
• New Product Validation: Follow new product validation process P0-1-2.
• Process Lines Feasibility Study: Conduct feasibility studies for process lines expansion.
• Collaboration with Parent Companies: Collaborate with parent companies (AM & NSC) for trials material designing and process parameter mapping.
• Operation and Supply Chain Follow-up: Follow up with operation and supply chain for trials.
• Trial Protocol Validation: Validate trial protocols.
• GI TDC and Grade Mapping: Define GI TDC and grade mapping in systems.
• Product and Process Control Plan: Participate in product and process control plan and FMEA development.
• APQP Document Preparation: Prepare APQP documents.
• Witnessing Trials: Witness trials at various processes.
• Heat Cycle and Key Process Parameter Implementation: Implement, validate, and monitor heat cycles and key process parameters for Al-Si, HRPO, and Magnelis products.
• New Product Processing Protocol Preparation: Prepare new product processing protocols for Al-Si, HRPO, and Magnelis products.

• Understanding of Continuous Galvanizing and Cold Rolling Processes: Have good understanding and knowledge of continuous galvanizing and cold rolling processes.
• Critical to Quality Process Parameters: Have knowledge of critical to quality process parameters of Al-Si, HRPO, and Magnelis products and their impact on product quality and mechanical properties.
• Automotive Product Stabilization: Have in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in automotive Al-Si, HRPO, and Magnelis product stabilization.
• Customer Specific Requirements: Have basic knowledge of customer-specific requirements of various automotive OEMs with respect to product characteristics.
• Product Approval and Homologation Process: Have in-depth knowledge of product approval and homologation processes of various automotive OEMs.
• Automotive Grades and Chemical Elements: Understand various automotive grades and their chemical elements and end applications, including the impact of properties and process parameters during product end applications.
• Chemical Elements and Implications: Have in-depth knowledge of various chemical elements and their implications in product characteristics and final application performance.
• Control Plan and FMEA Development: Participate in the development of control plans and FMEAs for various processes as per ISO 16949:2016 standards.
• 7 QC Tools and Statistical Tools: Have basic knowledge and exposure to 7 QC tools, statistical tools for data analysis, DMAIC, quality circle projects, MSA, KAIZEN, 5S, Poka-Yoke, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Homologation KPIs: Monitor and control various homologation KPIs like number of products developed, number of grades sample submission, grade development time, homologation time, etc.
• Quality Management System Process: Have in-depth knowledge of various quality management system processes and product audits with respect to various certifications like ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and BIS.
• Systems Knowledge: Preferably have knowledge of product and process simulation software, SAP (QM/PP module), Tableau, Power BI, Mini Tab, manufacturing execution systems, and MS software especially advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
