Lead Engineer for Cross-Border and Domestic Payments

We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to drive solution architecture, design, and delivery of cross-border and domestic retail payment systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in API development, microservices architecture, and ISO message integration.

The successful candidate will ensure scalability, security, and compliance in the development of robust API-driven microservices solutions for retail payments. They will also define end-to-end solution architecture for payment applications, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements.

This is a key role that requires close collaboration with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technology solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with product owners, security teams, and other chapters to define and implement solutions.

The team will look for someone who can foster innovation and efficiency in digital payment solutions, while ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and governance policies. Additionally, they should be able to stay updated on emerging technologies in the payment space.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement secure and compliant payment systems using APIs and microservices architecture
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop technical specifications and solution architectures
  • Ensure seamless integration of payment systems with other banking platforms and third-party services
  • Develop and maintain high-quality software using Agile methodologies
Requirements:
  • 8-12 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on payment systems and APIs
  • B.Tech or B.E. or M.B.A. degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong knowledge of ATM/POS switching, Debit Card Issuance/Management, Digital Channels interface, Encryption, HSM, and ISO8583 messaging standards
  • Experience with EMV Contact/Contactless, VISA and MasterCard Card Issuing & Acquiring, Scheme compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with EFT transaction switching and processing
  • Experience with Switch integration with VISA/Mastercard, UPI, JCB, and National switches
  • Experience with Google Pay/Samsung Pay/Apple Pay Wallets and QR Code
