Job Title: Compliance and Legal Affairs Specialist

As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing expert legal and compliance support to ensure seamless operations across various business units.

  • Ensure timely renewal of statutory licenses, approvals, and permissions for factories and new projects.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with government authorities to secure subsidies and incentives.
  • Develop, review, and finalize contracts, agreements, notices, and replies in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage litigation matters, including civil, criminal, arbitration, and recovery cases, to minimize risk and maximize outcomes.
  • Collaborate with external counsels, courts, and government departments to resolve cases efficiently and provide ongoing support to the business.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements across factories, including regular audits and inspections.
  • Maintain accurate records and repositories of contracts, licenses, and legal documents, with timely renewal alerts to prevent lapses.
  • Support land-related matters, including acquisition, leasing, monetization, and updating land records to optimize business performance.
  • Provide assistance in brand protection to safeguard our reputation and assets.
  • Coordinate with business and finance teams to track recoveries and manage legal claims effectively.
  • Travel to factories, project sites, and markets as required to address legal and compliance-related matters.
  • Handle local legal issues impacting factories, projects, or operations to ensure smooth business operations.
  • Undertake any other legal matters assigned by management to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.

Key Qualifications:

  • LLB / LLM (LLM preferred) degree from a reputable institution.

Preferred Experience:

  • 4-9 years of experience in a legal role, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial sector, with a proven track record of delivering results.

Preferred Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of corporate law, litigation, land laws, and compliance, with expertise in contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills to navigate complex issues and build effective relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cross-functional coordination to drive business objectives.
  • Proficiency in legal MIS/documentation tools, such as Lexcare, is an advantage.
