Job Opportunity

The Legal Leadership Team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced AVP to play a key role in all aspects of legal affairs.

This position involves close collaboration with senior management, providing strategic advice on complex legal issues, managing external counsel relationships, and leading internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive legal strategies that support the organization's goals.
  • Provide expert guidance on litigation strategy and manage external counsel relationships.
  • Oversee the legal aspects of business operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful projects.
Focus Areas
  • Corporate Deals: Lead the negotiation and closure of deals, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Contracts: Develop, negotiate, and finalize contracts with third-party vendors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions/Corporate Finance: Provide expert advice on indemnity claims, draft responses to notices, and support the Corporate Finance team.
  • Litigations: Support decision-making and lead strategic litigations as advised by the GCLO/management.
  • Business Acquisition: Collaborate with the Business Acquisition team, review bid documents, issue risk analyses, and conduct due diligence.
  • Policy Advocacy: Provide general legal advice on strategy and interpretation of new regulations.
Requirements
  • Law degree from a reputable institution.
  • At least 15 years of experience in multinational companies, preferably in the power/infrastructure/energy sectors.
  • Strong commercial understanding of the power/energy business; and government tenders/projects.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
