Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Estimating Specialist who is passionate about the broadband, telecom, and outside plant industry.

The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of industry requirements for all outside plant engineering and construction needs and possess the expertise to properly price projects accordingly.

  1. Review Customer Requests: Gain a thorough understanding of customer provided Request for Proposals (RFPs) documents including project scope, RFP response requirements, project specifications, project schedule, and customer objectives.
  2. Develop Comprehensive Estimates: Create tailored estimate and bid preparation templates specifically designed for each RFP project.
  3. Cost Breakdown and Scheduling: Utilize expert-level proficiency in Excel to build cost breakdowns, high level schedules, risk registers, preliminary resource plans, and populate customer bid pricing forms and sheets for RFP submittals.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to gather necessary project information and ensure accurate estimates.
  5. Cost-Saving Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis and research to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
  6. Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to present estimates, address inquiries, and provide recommendations as needed.
  7. Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve estimating processes and accuracy.
