Senior Leadership Position: Sports Talent Development

This role is focused on establishing a structured pathway for athletes to transition from talent identification to elite performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive athlete development program, encompassing talent identification, recruitment, and support.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to create engaging campaigns and social media content promoting the sports opportunities.
  • Engage in long-term strategic planning and review processes with senior leaders.
Talent Identification and Development:
  • Coordinate and deliver annual talent identification programs, incorporating multi-stage testing and profiling.
  • Design sport-specific benchmarking and profiling systems in collaboration with sports scientists and national/international performance standards.
  • Initiate new initiatives such as talent transfer and scouting projects to address critical talent gaps.
  • Implement a comprehensive athlete database management system.
Program Design and Delivery:
  • Oversee the planning, marketing, and scheduling of creative talent identification campaigns.
  • Ensure athlete support throughout the talent recruitment process.
  • Establish clear guidelines for participating in IIS talent identification and recruitment campaigns.
  • Develop a graphical prospectus outlining the offer to each athlete.
  • Implement a reward system to attract top talent.
Staff and Stakeholder Management:
  • Recruit and develop a talent scouting and recruitment team.
  • Lead the pathways team to build relationships with key stakeholders, including club coaches, parents, national federations, and other required stakeholders.
Data, Review & Insights:
  • Monitor athlete talent using real-time performance analytics and benchmarking tools.
  • Conduct regular pathway reviews and provide ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Use national and international performance trends to inform talent recruitment strategies.
Education and Welfare Integration:
  • Collaborate with educational pathways teams to ensure athlete welfare and dual career programs.
  • Facilitate induction, transition, and exit processes for athletes entering and exiting the pathway.
Compliance and Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and institutional policies.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and budget justifications as required.
