Senior Software Developer Role

Overview of the Position

The company is looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our team. This individual will play a key role in developing new applications and improving existing ones based on the needs of internal and external clients.

  1. Key Responsibilities
  2. Develop applications that effectively meet client objectives and user needs.
  3. Design and write code for applications and maintain application databases.
  4. Analyze and edit existing software applications to improve functionality, fix problems, and enable use on new hardware platforms.
  5. Remodel and adapt applications as needed to optimize performance.
  6. Identify specific client needs and preferences related to the application.
  7. Test applications extensively to ensure error-free and bug-free performance.
  8. Install applications and act as technical advisor.
  9. Communicate with internal stakeholders to obtain information on project limitations, performance requirements, and interfaces.
  10. Consult with clients during the design phase to determine their needs.
  11. Produce software documentation following company processes and templates.
  12. Participate in software product review meetings and team meetings.

Requirements

  • Technical Skills
  • An advanced understanding of computer science, including programming, application design, and user-focused features.
  • A strong team player who maintains team integrity.
  • Excellent attention to detail capabilities.
  • Ability to understand and analyze complex systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in writing software using Java and standard object libraries.
  • Advanced knowledge of software development processes.
  • Advanced proficiency with agile development methods like Scrum.
  • Knowledge of integrated development environments.
  • Proficiency in various programming languages, including Java, Perl, Python, and C++.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications

  • Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science or software engineering.
  • Certification in programming languages, such as Java, Perl, Python, and C++.
  • Scrum or Project Management certification.

Experience

  • Required
  • Advanced Software Applications Engineering or Software Development experience.
  • Experience with programming languages, including C, C++, Java, and Python.
  • Experience working with Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Project management experience or experience working in an Agile environment.
