Job Profile: Senior Financial Leadership Role

Position Overview: This is a critical position within the finance department, responsible for overseeing and managing various financial activities, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, and providing strategic financial insights to aid decision-making. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with other departments to create and manage budgets for different projects or operational areas.
  • Monitor budget performance and variances, providing insights and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Develop accurate financial forecasts to support strategic planning.

General Accounting:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
  • Reconcile financial records and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to support decision-making and long-term planning.
  • Provide insights on financial performance, cost control, and revenue enhancement opportunities.
  • Assist in evaluating investment opportunities and business expansion strategies.

Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of accountants, ensuring their professional growth and development.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, set performance goals, and conduct regular performance reviews.

Auditing and Compliance:

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits and reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and other relevant laws.

Cash Management:

  • Monitor cash flows and liquidity, optimizing working capital management.
  • Implement strategies to manage accounts payable and accounts receivable efficiently.

Relationship Management:

  • Collaborate with banks, financial institutions, and vendors to maintain strong working relationships.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support for decision-making.

Software and Technology:

  • Utilize accounting software and financial management tools to streamline processes and enhance accuracy.
  • Stay updated with advancements in financial technology and suggest relevant improvements.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or professional certifications like CPA, CMA, ACCA can be advantageous).
  • Proven work experience as an Accounts Manager or in a similar financial management role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and taxation.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and financial management tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
