Lead Portfolio Strategist

Develop and implement effective credit underwriting policies to manage personal loan portfolios across digital channels.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and execute underwriting strategies to ensure efficient risk management.
  2. Collaborate with Data Science teams to analyze and validate underwriting models, identifying areas for improvement.
  3. Establish performance benchmarks and take corrective action in case of breach.
  4. Automate credit policies to minimize manual intervention in assessing creditworthiness.
  5. Develop pricing strategies based on segmentation.
  6. Standardize policies and processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  7. Monitor portfolio profitability and risk thresholds.
Portfolio Analysis
  1. Conduct regular portfolio reviews and recommend policy changes to stakeholders based on outcomes.
  2. Review existing portfolios, identify high-risk segments, and develop mitigation strategies.
  3. Monitor delinquent accounts to ensure achievement of industry standards.
  4. Identify technological solutions to improve processes and overall portfolio management.
  5. Analyze data to monitor portfolio performance and risk.
Partnerships and Integrations
  1. Understand new partner products and customer segments.
  2. Requisition necessary data from partners during application.
  3. Create policies based on product, available information, and prevailing models.
  4. Facilitate data room exercises for new customer segments.
  5. Formulate policies considering expected loss rates.
  6. Monitor policy implementation, UAT, and production test runs.
Relationship Management
  • Manage relations with partners, credit reporting agencies, and assist in all credit operations.
Requirements
  1. Postgraduate degree in Finance/Statistics/Management from reputable institutions.
  2. BTech with MBA preferred.
  3. Minimum 6 years of experience, with 3-4 years in risk management and policy creation.
  4. Fair understanding of risk performance.
  5. Excellent communication skills.
  6. Superior stakeholder management skills.
  7. Hands-on experience working with large datasets using various tools.

  • Proficient in Data Analytics, Model Validation, Policy Formulation, Portfolio Management, Stakeholder Management, and Project Management.
  • Technical skills: R/Python, SQL, Advanced Excel.
