Procurement Specialist Role Overview

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day purchasing activities, sourcing materials, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites and the factory.

  • Purchase materials and supplies as required by projects while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Evaluate potential suppliers based on quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
  • Monitor order status to guarantee timely delivery to project sites and the factory.
  • Examine the quality and specifications of procured materials to meet project standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders and vendor communications.
  • Collaborate with project managers and senior engineers to determine material requirements.
  • Resolve any discrepancies or issues with suppliers regarding deliveries or quality.
  • Prepare and submit periodic purchase reports to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the construction or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and supplier management.
  • Proficiency in ERP and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
