Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned compliance expert to lead our legal, regulatory, and risk management functions for US and Canada operations.

This role is critical in ensuring that all aspects of our business align with local and international legal standards, particularly in the context of US Staffing operations conducted from India.

You will collaborate closely with leadership, HR, operations, and finance teams to ensure legal soundness and risk mitigation across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and oversee internal compliance programs, controls, and processes.
  • Provide legal counsel on Indian labor laws, company policies, vendor contracts, and cross-border operations.
  • Review and negotiate commercial agreements, NDAs, client contracts, and service-level agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with US Staffing-related legal standards, including data protection, taxation implications, and employee classifications (W-2/1099/C2C).
  • Partner with HR to ensure labor law compliance (PF, ESIC, Shops & Establishments Act, etc.).
  • Stay updated on changes in applicable laws and regulatory guidelines.
Requirements
  • A strategic thinker with exceptional problem-solving skills, able to operate independently and as part of a global team.
  • Deep understanding of both Indian corporate and labor law, with exposure to US and Canada business legalities (especially in staffing).
  • Proven experience leading compliance, risk, and legal functions for mid-to-large organisations.
  • Strong judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Proactive in identifying legal risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
