Job Opportunity: Venture Capital Expert

Renate Capital Fund I is a Category II AIF Venture Capital Fund investing in revenue-positive Indian startups solving core Indian problems.

About the Role

You will be part of our core team, working directly under the Managing Director. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Sourcing investors and structuring deals;
  • Evaluating startups and managing due diligence;
  • Supporting portfolio companies on fundraising, growth strategy, and performance tracking;
  • Conducting market research and identifying emerging opportunities;
  • Assisting with investment memos, reporting to Limited Partners (LPs), and internal fund documentation;
Key Responsibilities:

As a Venture Fund Associate, you will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Deal Sourcing: Identify potential investors/LPs through networks, events, inbound leads, accelerators, and referrals.
  • Evaluation of Investments: Analyze business models, financials, traction, and scalability of potential investments.
  • Due Diligence: Support legal, financial, and compliance checks on shortlisted startups.
  • Portfolio Support: Work with portfolio companies on fundraising, growth strategy, and performance tracking.
  • Market Research: Conduct deep dives into sectors, prepare market maps, and identify emerging opportunities.
  • Fund Operations: Assist with investment memos, reporting to LPs, and internal fund documentation.
  • Ecosystem Building: Represent Renate Capital at startup events, demo days, and founder meetings.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A completed or ongoing Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 6-12 months of experience in VC, PE, consulting, investment banking, or startup strategy.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Strong networking skills and prior built-up network.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work in a fast-paced, lean team environment.
