Job Title: Category Development Manager - Fast Moving Consumer Goods

As a Category Development Manager for Fast Moving Consumer Goods, you will be responsible for leading the category management team in assigned regions. Your key responsibilities include overseeing 20-30 stores and managing a team of 8-10 members.

  • Lead Buying Efforts: You will lead buying efforts for national and regional FMCG brands, conduct classroom and on-the-job training, and groom and develop team members.
  • Challenge Management: Coordinate and address challenges in buying and movement of goods, meet key vendor partners for negotiations, forecasting, and category development initiatives.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with Store Operations, Supply Chain, Purchase, and Central Purchase teams to maximize offtakes and ensure best promotions in stores.
  • Vendor Relationships: Discuss and close monthly and quarterly plans with FMCG vendors, including demand planning, promotions, and smooth supplies to stores.
  • Training and Development: Train and groom Purchase officers and Assistant Purchase managers on the job and in classroom trainings.
  • Operational Efficiency: Ensure availability of goods in DCs and stores, maintain competitive pricing, and be willing to travel across locations within the region and PAN India.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate/Post Graduate/MBA with minimum 10 years' experience in FMCG Sales.
  • Experience: Experience in General Trade preferred, managing similar roles.
  • Language and Travel: Knowledge of local language/location required, willingness to travel.
  • Skills: Good communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Team Management: Strong team management and training skills, as they will manage a large team and train/groom team members.
