Job Title: Property Accountant

This role will focus on accounting and financial operations, including development accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Financial Reporting & Development Accounting
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements for development projects.
  • Maintain general ledgers and ensure accurate monthly and year-end closing.
  • Payables & Cash Management
  • Process and approve payables, wire requests, and ensure timely disbursements.
  • Run aging reports, monitor outstanding payables, and follow up with vendors.
  • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Process invoices, review supporting documentation, and ensure proper coding and approvals.
  • Approve payables, set up wire requests, and ensure timely disbursements.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Record rent and other receivables accurately and on time.
  • Monitor tenant ledgers, reconcile payments, and follow up on overdue balances.
  • Generate AR aging reports and work with teams to reduce delinquencies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address queries and provide insights and support for business-related decision-making.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience in property management (development focus preferred).
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Yardi.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliations.
