Job Description:

The role of a Desktop Support Engineer involves providing technical assistance to end-users, focusing on resolving hardware and software issues related to desktop computing systems. This includes troubleshooting voice over internet protocol (VOIP) related problems, such as difficulties with making calls, echo during voice calls, and VOIP phones not turning on.

Additionally, the job requires knowledge of local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems, including LAN/WAN protocols, DNS, DHCP, FTP, VPN, Cisco Router, Switch, and Hubs.

As a first-line support specialist, the engineer will provide timely and effective solutions to end-user queries, escalating complex issues to vendors when necessary. They will also be responsible for configuring and supporting Microsoft Office Suite applications, including MS-Outlook and O365, as well as other email systems.

Furthermore, the Desktop Support Engineer will need to understand Active Directory and have experience with Windows XP/7/10 and Apple Macintosh operating systems.

  • Troubleshooting VOIP related issues
  • Knowledge of LAN and WAN Systems
  • First level Support to end users
  • Escalation and resolution follow-up with other parties like vendors
  • Microsoft Office Suite 2003/2007/2013 Configuration and support of MS-Outlook,O365 and other emailing systems
  • Support Skype/Teams
  • Windows XP/7/10 and Apple Macintosh Operating systems
  • Understand Active directory
  • Understand protocols LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, FTP, VPN, Cisco Router, Switch and Hubs
  • Configure/troubleshoot standalone and Network Printers, Scanners, Network Cards, Memory and other peripheral devices
  • Network end point testing
  • Antivirus End point protection
