About the Role

This is a dynamic and challenging position that requires a highly skilled mechanical engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting design and development on multi-disciplinary products in new product development.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in sheet metal designs, particularly in switchgear products. They will also possess strong knowledge of 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and detailing standards using Solidworks, AutoCAD, and proficiency in PLM fundamentals.

Responsibilities will include delivering mechanical design requirements, releasing BOMs in SAP for manufacturing, and providing support on LV switchgear products. The engineer will work closely with internal and external stakeholders for design release and approval, as well as identify and develop new vendors for localization projects.

In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will be required to follow industry standards such as IEC, ISO, ANSI, and ASME & ASTM for all relevant product designs.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Electromechanical exposure)
  • More than 2 years of experience, preferably with a Master's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
Key Skills
  • Expertise in sheet metal designs, preferred in switchgear products
  • Demonstrated skills in 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and detailing standards using Solidworks, AutoCAD
  • Strong knowledge of material selection for electro-mechanical products
  • Competent in tolerance stack-up analysis on assembly model designs and GD&T (ASME Y14.5) on moving assemblies
  • Knowledge of modular product BOM preparation and structuring in SAP/ERP
  • Well-versed in ECN/ECO process
  • Manufacturing industry exposure, including fabrication, machining, and molding
  • Able to work in a dynamic environment and support high challenges
  • Good interpersonal skills and planning ability
  • Exposure to industry standard practices, product manufacturing, and processes
  • Strong team working spirit and effective communication
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of MS Office and SAP
