Financial Operations Manager
About the Role:This position is a crucial part of an organization's finance department, responsible for overseeing and managing various financial activities.
Main Responsibilities:- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with other departments to create and manage budgets for different projects or operational areas.
- Monitor budget performance and variances, providing insights and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Develop accurate financial forecasts to support strategic planning.
- General Accounting:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Reconcile financial records and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Financial Analysis:
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to support decision-making and long-term planning.
- Provide insights on financial performance, cost control, and revenue enhancement opportunities.
- Assist in evaluating investment opportunities and business expansion strategies.
- Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of accountants, ensuring their professional growth and development.
- Delegate tasks effectively, set performance goals, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Auditing and Compliance:
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits and reviews.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and other relevant laws.
- Cash Management:
- Monitor cash flows and liquidity, optimizing working capital management.
- Implement strategies to manage accounts payable and accounts receivable efficiently.
- Relationship Management:
- Cultivate strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, and vendors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support for decision-making.
- Software and Technology:
- Leverage accounting software and financial management tools to streamline processes and enhance accuracy.
- Stay updated with advancements in financial technology and suggest relevant improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or professional certifications like CPA, CMA, ACCA can be advantageous).
- Proven work experience as a Financial Manager or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and taxation.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and financial management tools.
