Job Description

As a senior user researcher, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development of our products by providing actionable insights into user behavior and preferences.

  • Evaluative Research
  • You will plan and conduct studies to evaluate the usability and effectiveness of our products, identifying areas for improvement and informing design decisions.
  • These evaluations may include card sort, tree testing, usability heuristics, and other techniques to ensure that our products meet the needs of our users.
  • Generative Research
  • You will also support generative research efforts, helping to define the problem space and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • This may involve contextual inquiry, ethnography, data mining, and other techniques to gain a deeper understanding of our users and their needs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • As a senior user researcher, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, analytics, product management, customer support, marketing, and sales.
  • Together, you will formulate and address research questions, ensuring that our products meet the needs of our users and drive business success.
  • Research Execution and Analysis
  • You will independently and collaboratively plan, execute, and analyze research across product or program areas.
  • This will involve performing qualitative data analysis, supporting ongoing coding efforts, designing and executing surveys, and performing statistical analyses.
  • Secondary Research and Competitive Analysis
  • You will also undertake secondary research scans and comparative/competitive analysis to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
  • Team Collaboration and Practice Evolution
  • Finally, as part of our small team, you will help evolve our User Research practice, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues to drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Expertise in Research Methodologies
  • A strong understanding of human factors, user-centered design principles, and statistics.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with research design, execution, and analysis, as well as qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Familiarity with survey design and execution, as well as statistical analysis software.
  • Education and Certifications
  • A degree in a relevant field, such as psychology, sociology, anthropology, or human-computer interaction.
  • Relevant certifications, such as the Certified User Experience (UX) Designer or the Certified User Researcher certification.
