Risk Management Specialist

Key Objectives
- Manage and oversee autonomous projects across operational risk management domains such as internal control assessments, third-party risk management, incident response, loss data analysis, and business continuity for financial institutions.
- Evaluate and validate existing frameworks, policies, procedures, and risk and control matrices to ensure theoretical soundness, testing design, and identification of control weaknesses. This involves ongoing monitoring and contribution to the firm-wide risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) exercise.
- Demonstrate independence in project planning, stakeholder engagement, testing design and execution, results interpretation, and presentation. The production of documentation should be strong enough to evidence a sound challenge to both internal and external parties.
- The role involves working with a broad group of stakeholders from various parts of the organization, investigating operational risk and governance standards, and undertaking detailed risk and control self-assessment (RCSA). Key risk indicators (KRIs) will be defined along with associated thresholds, and KRI monitoring will be undertaken. This will involve establishing and linking it to the loss data and incident reporting workflows.
- Possess a deep understanding of process risk and controls, as well as associated compliance requirements.
- Understand the operational risk management requirements for the financial services industry.
