Job Description

Our organization is seeking an experienced Software Asset Management (SAM) professional to oversee the management of software assets, with a strong understanding of open-source software and related contracts. This mid-management role involves overseeing software asset management with a focus on open-source components, ensuring compliance, and optimizing usage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the inventory and tracking of software assets, including understanding and applying open-source licenses and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and standards.
  • Optimize software usage and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage software audits and ensure accurate reporting.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate/Post Graduate degree from a recognized university.
  • Understanding and mastery of software licensing for at least three big publishers like Microsoft, Oracle, VMWare, SAP etc.
  • Robust SAM experience.
  • Ability to handle software audits independently.
  • SAM tool knowledge (Service Now preferable), ELP creation/license compliance position, contract management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified Professional.
  • Big 4 experience and training.
  • 5 to 7 years of SAM or post graduate degree or higher.
  • 4 to 5 years experience in IT or project management/service delivery, operational/software asset management or consulting.
  • Legal awareness: basic knowledge of software licensing agreements and compliance standards.
