Job Title: CAD Technician

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our team. As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for creating and editing drawings in compliance with industry standards and detailing practices. You will work closely with engineers and other technicians to ensure high-quality output and meet project deadlines.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Executing CAD and BIM design tasks as directed by engineers
  • Drafting within a particular discipline
  • Coordinating with the CAD supervisor and other technicians regarding workload, good detailing practice, and work procedures
  • Producing drawings to maintain quality and accuracy
  • Creative and editing of drawings sketches in compliance with industry standards, detailing practices, and agreed timescales
  • Completion of CAD tasks received from engineers and CAD coordinators
  • Coordination with the Complementary Resources Centres (CRCs) CAD team
  • Generating sections/schedules/schematics from general arrangement drawings
  • Ensuring drawings are issued and filed in an appropriate manner
  • Conversion of ACAD drawings to other formats such as DWF PDF
  • Providing regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to line managers
  • Ensuring that Health Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies
  • Developing expertise and staying abreast of developments in relevant technical fields
  • Contributing to technical capabilities of the CAD team as a whole
  • Attending team and project meetings as required

The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in a relevant discipline, draughting service with ACAD experience, and at least 5-10 years of relevant work experience using AutoCAD in the field engineering area. Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment are essential.
