Reservoir Characterization Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Petrophysicist to lead petrophysical evaluations across exploration, appraisal, and development wells. This is a challenging role that requires the right person to ensure high-quality data acquisition and reservoir characterization.

• Lead Petrophysical activities for exploration, appraisal, and development wells including designing and overseeing logging programs (LWD/Wireline).
• Select and coordinate vendors for tool selection and real-time monitoring.
• Conduct formation evaluation—porosity, saturation, lithology, and hydrocarbon volumes—and integrate results into subsurface models and documentation.
• Provide real-time decision support during drilling operations at rig sites while logging and coring activities take place.
• Coordinate to execute coring programmes and associated laboratory studies to deliver high quality results.
• Perform field quality control (QC) of logging operations to ensure data integrity throughout all acquisition phases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as drilling, geology, reservoir engineering, geophysics, and related teams to deliver petrophysical insights and optimize data acquisition strategies.
• Integrate petrophysical data with core study results (RCA/SCAL), advanced logs, and provide inputs for seismic interpretation, geological modeling and resource estimation.
• Analyze advanced logs (e.g., NMR, Formation Tester, Imaging, Sonic Scanner etc.) and develop workflows for evaluating conventional, unconventional, and tight reservoirs.
• Evaluate petrophysical uncertainties and their impact on volumetric resource estimates and support for high grading prospects.
• Analyze and interpret cased hole and production logs to evaluate reservoir behavior, diagnose well performance, and guide optimization strategies.
• Engage with partners, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance across technical, operational, and strategic dimensions.
• Leverage machine learning and AI techniques to enhance petrophysical interpretation, automate workflows, and improve reservoir characterization.
• Identify emerging technologies to improve efficiency and reduce costs in data acquisition and interpretation.
• Deliver petrophysical assessments to support investment decisions in farm-in/farm-out opportunities.
• Manage well log data systems, QA/QC processes, and reporting standards.
• Mentor junior Petrophysicists and train them in technical excellence and knowledge sharing.

Requirements: A Master's degree or higher in Geophysics from a recognized university and minimum 15+ years of experience in Petrophysics within the oil & gas industry.
