Senior Data Engineer Position

The role requires a skilled professional to design and implement data solutions that meet the system requirements for advanced analytics platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Server Setup: Configure servers to ensure they meet the prerequisites for deploying data-intensive applications, verifying network configurations and enabling required inbound/outbound traffic.
  • Platform Installation: Install R, Python, Quarto, and Workbench, configure users, session management, and resource limits for optimal performance.
  • Testing and Verification: Verify the successful installation of Workbench through web browser access, confirming all dependencies are in place.
  • Connect Platform Deployment: Download and install Connect, configuring server URL, authentication methods, email notifications, and storage options, set up SSL certificates, and initiate the service.
  • Testing and Validation: Publish content to Connect from RStudio (Workbench) to confirm seamless integration and functionality.
  • Package Manager Configuration: Download and install Package Manager, set up CRAN, Bioconductor, and custom package repositories, configure access controls, and start the service.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Access Package Manager through a web browser, configure client R environments, and install packages to verify the setup's correctness.
  • Ongoing Maintenance and Support: Regularly apply updates and patches to data platforms, monitor license usage, and establish a comprehensive support plan.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering and platform administration
  • Proficiency in R, Python, and Quarto
  • Strong understanding of data security, compliance, and governance
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
