Land Acquisition Specialist

 

  • Job Summary:
  • We are seeking a skilled Land Acquisition Specialist to lead our land acquisition efforts for renewable energy projects across the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and acquiring suitable land parcels, managing relationships with local stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

 

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and acquire suitable land parcels for renewable energy projects, considering technical feasibility, connectivity, and regulatory clearances.
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end land acquisition process, including scouting, negotiation, documentation, registration, and handover.
  • Build and manage relationships with local landowners, agents, revenue officials, district-level authorities, and government departments.
  • Conduct title due diligence and ensure legal sanctity of land through coordination with legal teams.
  • Oversee RoW (Right of Way) acquisition, mutation, land conversion, and compliance with state-specific renewable energy policies.
  • Ensure clear documentation, including agreements to sale, lease deeds, power of attorney, and land maps.
  • Keep track of local land price trends, zoning regulations, and state incentives to ensure cost-effective deals.
  • Supervise a field team of land officers, surveyors, and external consultants.
  • Handle conflict resolution and address any legal or community-related land acquisition issues.
  • Regularly update management on project progress, risk factors, and mitigation plans.

 

  • Requirements:
  • Technical knowledge of land acquisition processes and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn new software applications.

 

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Post-graduate degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in land acquisition or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Indian laws and regulations related to land acquisition.
