Senior Vehicle Manufacturing Engineer

This is a senior-level position that oversees the introduction of new vehicles with pre-pilot batch, pilot batch and standard operating procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement new product manufacturing processes for supply to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve existing processes and achieve high repeatability and robustness.
  • Enhance vendor performance through process improvement initiatives and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Troubleshoot defects using problem-solving tools like 7 QC tools and Why-Why analysis.
  • Generate capacity as needed in a stringent time frame while maintaining quality standards.
Competency Requirements:Technical/Functional:
  • Engineering drawing study and interpretation.
  • Fixture/Gauge design and proving methodology.
  • Basic vehicle manufacturing process and functional knowledge.
  • Process and facility planning for vehicle assembly, CKD, SKD, etc.
  • Basic automation and interlocks for automated cells.
  • Pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC systems functioning and error proofing.
  • Knowledge of industry trends in automation and error proofing.
  • Basic knowledge of paint and fabrication processes.
  • Material handling including trolleys, bins, stands, karakuri.
  • Basic quality system knowledge including inward systems, inspection, RM checking, WPR, CMM, 3D scanning, and spreadsheets.
  • ISO 9001, QS certification requirements and audits.
  • Identification marking systems including punching, dot matrix, laser etching.
Behavioral:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good knowledge of process flow, data, and logical interpretation.
  • Ability to adapt and align.
