Job Title: Strategic Decision Maker

The Role:

This is a leadership position where you will oversee the implementation of operating procedures, monitor risk appetite, and identify areas for improvement in the Risk Stewardship operating model. You will also lead engagement with reporting teams and stakeholders, understand regulatory reporting requirements, and maintain an awareness of regulatory developments.

Responsibilities:

- Implementing designed operating procedures to underpin the execution of RMF Responsibilities, primarily in relation to advice and challenge, monitoring of risk appetite, RCA review and challenge, controls, issues, actions, and events, oversight of key regulatory reporting change initiatives, and reporting and governance.
- Identifying areas of improvement in the Risk Stewardship operating model, designing and executing the uplift solution.
- Critically reviewing and challenging 1LOD deliverables and solutions, such as process maps, RCA's, remediation plans, and MSII management actions plans.
- Leading engagement with 1LOD reporting teams and senior WPB stakeholders, including WPB CROs.
- Understanding regulatory reporting returns, such as COREP, Pillar 2, Pillar 3 Disclosures, and maintaining an awareness of regulatory reporting developments, e.g., Basel 3.
- Overseeing the 1LOD plan to embed new reporting requirements into BAU.
- Succinctly reporting the Risk Stewardship activities performed and proposing Risk Map ratings to the relevant WPB CRO.
- Identifying areas where further MI is required to accurately assess the risk within Regulatory Reporting.
- Working with the IRR Program to resolve any existing blockers to fully executing the Risk Stewardship RMF responsibilities.
- Leading and mentoring GCB 5 team members.

Requirements:

- Significant demonstrable experience in 1LOD preparation and review of regulatory report submission to a Regulator, including COREP, Pillar 2, Pillar 3 disclosures, and Stress Testing.
- Proven expertise in stewardship, knowledge of regulatory rules and reporting, and executing and delivering complex solutions.
- Strong understanding of key regulatory reporting controls, including experience of operating these controls.
- Ability to present complex issues confidently and concisely, using simple language and accommodating globally distributed senior stakeholders is essential.
- Demonstrating initiative - a self-starter who accepts challenges with strong sense of ownership and accountability requiring minimal direction.
- Experience in designing, producing, and presenting senior management presentations.
- Experience of working with onshore/offshore models.
- Regulatory Reporting change experience.
- Analytical person with a positive personality, outstanding communication and problem-solving skills to coordinate with business partners of different backgrounds.
- Outstanding attention to detail and dedication to maintain a strong control environment and ability to seek potential improvements.
