Occupational Therapist Job Description

The Saamarthya Foundation is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join their team. This role involves working with children who have Autism and Intellectual Disabilities, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and monitoring progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and plan occupational therapy services for children with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor progress towards achieving functional goals
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, educate caregivers and family members, and maintain accurate clinical records

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
  • Valid license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in India
  • Demonstrated knowledge of occupational therapy principles and techniques, including physical, cognitive, and perceptual abilities, and developmental norms across the lifespan
  • Experience working with individuals with diverse backgrounds and needs, including physical disabilities, mental illness, and developmental disorders
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address functional goals and activities of daily living
  • Experience working in a team-based environment and collaborating with interdisciplinary professionals

Preferred Skills:

  • Occupational therapy experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities
  • Assessment and planning skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
