Part Time Job for Special Children

We are seeking enthusiastic young individuals to participate in our program focused on helping children with special needs. Our approach involves child-centered play therapy, where we work alongside the child to create a safe and supportive environment.

The selected intern will be responsible for:

  • Engaging in 2 hours of play therapy with each child daily, focusing on areas such as learning, development, communication, and skill acquisition.
  • Conducting initial assessments to understand the child's strengths, challenges, interests, and sensory sensitivities.
  • Designing a sensory-friendly therapy space that promotes engagement and reduces anxiety.
  • Establishing trusting relationships with each child through attuned interactions and active listening.
  • Implementing evidence-based play therapy techniques such as Floortime, DIR, and sensory integration activities.
  • Using imaginative play, role-playing, and creative arts to address social communication deficits, emotional expression, and problem-solving skills.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • English proficiency.
  • No prior experience is required, but relevant skills and interests are preferred.

About Autism Play:

Our home-based play therapy program caters to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. We take a child-centered approach, moving with the child instead of against them, creating a deeply loving and respectful learning environment.

Duration: 6 months.
